Celebrating 20 years of Artists Emerge, AE is one of Canada’s most respected professional dance competitions, built on excellence, community, and unforgettable experiences. Since 2006, we’ve proudly welcomed over 23,000 dancers from across the country.
This anniversary season is our Legacy Year, and we have exciting new additions in store to celebrate two decades of passion, artistry, and emerging talent.
NEW for the legacy year! The AE Workshop, taking place on Thursday and Sunday - pre and post competition - featuring inspiring workshops, mentorship opportunities and an expanded weekend experience for dancers.

We know how important good critique is to a dancer, choreographer and their studio/company. AE hunts for the most respected, accomplished & knowledgeable personalities to sit on our judging panel.
Gil the Grid
Gil 'the Grid' the "Movement Alchemist", is a visionary pioneer who bridges the worlds of raw street styles and high-art theater. Gil doesn't just teach steps—he teaches you how to manipulate time, space, and the viewer’s perception. Starting out as a seasoned battler, he soared to heights of accomplishments such as, Juste Debout Experimental World Champion, Red Bull Dance Your Style Netherlands Champion, Finalist on Hollands Got Talent, and the Founder/Artistic Director of Amenti Theatre Company.
The Amenti mission is to bridge the gap between urban culture (Hip Hop/Breaking) and ancient mysticism. They use dance not just as performance, but as "somatic medicine," aiming to help people process trauma, explore their "shadow self," and reconnect with their primal Nature. Amenti deconstructs traditional dance forms and turns them into ritual.
Kamilla Lil K
Kamilla Lil K, is a foundational Hip Hop dancer from Lithuania who has developed into a powerhouse in the international dance scene. Kamilla is a heavy-hitter on the international battle circuit, with her style being masterclass in musicality and "pocket.” Kamile brings a unique fusion of high-level technical skill and raw, intuitive expression. She has toured globally as a lead dancer for the world renowned Amenti Theatre Company and Instructor for their Movemeant Method.
Kamile represents the "water" of the collective—bridging the gap between explosive power and fluid vulnerability. Her ability to navigate complex emotional landscapes through movement makes her a vital force in both the collective's performances and its educational workshops.

Welcome to a transformative experience designed for the modern competitor. This weekend is about more than scores and trophies - it's about the bridge between technical precision and the soul of the performer.
Day 1 (Pre-Competition): The Stage is Calling. Are You Truly Present?
In the heat of a competition weekend, your mind is often a whirlwind of counts, spacing, and technical cues. You’ve done the work, you’ve drilled the choreography, and your body knows the moves - but can you feel them?
We invite you to step out of the "rehearsal brain" and into your power with Amenti MoveMeant.

Day 2 (Post-Competition): Alchemizing the Experience
A competition weekend is an intense sensory and physical journey. You have pushed your body to its limits, navigated the pressure of the stage, and absorbed a wealth of new information. However, without a moment of integration, these experiences often remain external.
This exclusive Post-Competition Immersion is a dedicated space to process, understand, and internalize everything you have learned in Edmonton. It is the bridge between "doing" a move and "owning" a movement language.
